1. Focus on the client.  We focus on providing the best client experience possible. No matter how small the detail we take great care to ensure that we will ultimately serve you, rather than our bottom line. And when we build new tools and applications to improve your school we believe they should work well so you don’t have to consider how they might have been designed differently.
  2. It’s best to do one thing and do it right every time.  We manage student mobility.. We are the only business that works exclusively on managing student mobility. We work to solve complex issues and provide continuous improvements to a service that already makes accessing information and mining data easy. Our dedication to improving schools helps us apply what we’ve learned to new products. Our hope is to bring the power of technology to previously unexplored areas, and to help schools access and use even more of the ever-expanding information that surrounds us.
  3. Be fast.  We know your time is valuable, so when you’re using our system the average response time on a user interaction is a fraction of a second. We keep speed in mind because we want to increase instructional time.  And we continue to work on making  access even faster. Our system can handle what you throw at it whether it be a student identification card or a biometric scanner or click and drag.
  4. Make money and do no evil.  PassPort is a business. The revenue we generate is derived from the school or district or state we do business with.  If we offer the sale of advertising on our site we have a set of guiding principles for our advertising programs and practices:
    • We firmly believe that ads can provide useful information if, and only if, they are relevant to what you do–so it’s possible that certain user interactions won’t lead to any ads at all.
    • We believe that advertising can be effective without being flashy. We don’t accept pop–up advertising, which interferes with your ability to see the content you expect. Text ads that are relevant to the person reading them draw attention. Any advertiser, whether small or large, can take advantage of this highly targeted medium.
    • Advertising on PassPort is always clearly identified so it does not compromise the integrity of our user experience.
    • One of our goals for advertising is to help generate revenue for the schools we work with.
    • And every ad is personally approved by the CEO of the company to ensure all ads are school appropriate.
  5. There’s always more information in a school.  Once we begin working with you we are willing to grow with your needs.  PassPort has a research background and we continue to look into ways to bring all the information found in a school to help you seek answers.  We organize the data to help you as a leader and give you power to make informed decisions.
  6. The need for information crosses all borders.  Our company was founded in Tennessee, but our mission is to facilitate access to information in schools around the globe. We can learn from people on the other side of the world. We will add content to improve both the variety and quality of services based on feedback from you.  You matter.
  7. You can be serious and be fun at the same time.  Our founder built PassPort around the idea that we do should be fun.  And if what we are doing is not fun then we should try working a different way. We believe that world changing, creative ideas are more likely to happen with the right company culture–and that doesn’t just mean one big warehouse office space or group hugs with beach balls. There is just as much emphasis on questioning the process as there is on celebrating accomplishments that contribute to our overall success. We place faith in our employees but we also learn from our clients. Our atmosphere may be filled with hawaiian shirts, but as new ideas emerge from outside the traditional workspace and culture that does not mean the idea is any less valuable.
  8. The goal is perfection.  Being great at something is not the goal or an endpoint. We set ourselves goals we know we can’t reach yet because perfection has to be the goal. Through innovation and sweat we aim to make the digital hallpass work well and continue to improve upon the concept in unexpected ways.

Even if you don’t know exactly what information you want when managing student mobility, finding an answer is our problem, not yours. We try to anticipate needs not yet articulated by our schools, and meet them with products and services that set new standards. We can help you ask the right questions to improve your school.  We seek to create change and maybe even shake things up, and we’re always looking for new places where we can make a difference. The driving force behind everything we do is dissatisfaction with the status quo.  Our services will change the status quo.
